NBC Local 33 News Presents Mrs. Burton with the Extraordinary Educator of the Month!

Writer: Ebony BroadwayEbony Broadway

Congratulations to Jacqueline Burton, who will be featured tonight on NBC Local 33 News and Fox 44 News as an Extraordinary Educator of the Month. "I truly believe that every child can learn something, and so it motivates me every morning to get up to know that I'm coming to teach and to be a part of a growing society with children and being a part of what they need to begin the steps. So it makes a big difference to me," said Burton, an Exceptional Student Services teacher at Park. "I love the children. I love to do what I do. It's not a job; it's an assignment." A Baton Rouge native, Burton is a graduate of Southern University with a degree in communications and a master's in public relations; she is working on her doctorate in education at Liberty University. She has been teaching at Park for 12 years and 20 years overall. The segment on Burton will air TODAY at 9 p.m. on Fox 44 and at 10 p.m. on NBC Local 33.
